Beth served for four years as General Counsel to U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Chair Patty Murray as a member of the senior executive team, handling all legal matters as well as oversight investigations and nominations. Prior to that she spent over ten years working for former Senate HELP Committee Chairman Tom Harkin including as Legislative Director and HELP Committee Chief Counsel where she led major investigations into drug compounding, gray market drug pricing and predatory conduct by for-profit colleges. She also led election reform efforts following the 2000 election for current House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and began her Senate career with a Special Investigation working for Senator John Glenn.
Beth helps clients to identify legislative opportunities, overcome obstacles, find unexpected allies and make policy goals a reality. Since 2018 she has achieved passage of multiple legislative proposals and secured key funding increases for clients, as well as advanced key regulatory proposals on behalf of clients.
Beth is an expert at creating collaborative environments that allows coalitions to fully utilize the strengths of all members to achieve shared goals. She brings extensive government experience to help clients prepare for and navigate through high-stakes nominations and congressional investigations including preparing for congressional testimony. She has handled over 100 nominations from cabinet level to volunteer boards including multiple controversial nominations, and is an expert at anticipating and preparing for contentious testimony.
